Flagship Medical is the first durable medical equipment provider to join Prepared Health’s network.  The Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania-based company hopes referrals from hospitals and skilled nursing facilities will follow.

Flagship Medical, a full-service durable medical equipment provider, works with home care agencies and hospices in New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania to make sure their patients have the beds, walkers, wheelchairs and oxygen they need. Flagship also offers a full line of disposable supplies including diapers, gloves, wound care, ostomy, urological and personal care.

Now the company wants to expand its referral sources to include hospitals and skilled nursing facilities, says Michael Torjman, Flagship’s sales and marketing manager.

In December, Flagship joined Prepared Health’s network, a HIPAA-compliant electronic platform, to quickly accept partner referrals and coordinate patient care. Torjman hopes it will increase its visibility among hospitals and skilled nursing facilities already on the network.

“We don’t have a full-time liaison at a hospital but we can be there for them in real-time on the platform,” he says. “We’re the first DME provider on the network and we’re hoping new referrals come our way.”
